Book Review: Treasure of Khan by Clive Cussler

Treasure of Khan is the 19th installment in Clive Cussler's best-selling Dirk Pitt series. It was published in 2006 and co-written by Cussler's son, Dirk Cussler.

The novel begins with Dirk Pitt and his team investigating a mysterious shipwreck off the coast of Mongolia. They soon discover that the ship contains a treasure trove of artifacts from the Mongol Empire, including the lost crown of Genghis Khan.

However, Pitt and his team are not the only ones interested in the treasure. A ruthless Mongolian family is also after it, and they will stop at nothing to get it.

Treasure of Khan is a fast-paced and action-packed adventure novel. It features all of the elements that Clive Cussler is known for, including exotic locations, high-stakes adventure, and a cast of memorable characters.

One of the things that I enjoyed most about Treasure of Khan was the historical background. Cussler and his son do a great job of bringing the Mongol Empire to life. They also provide a lot of interesting information about Genghis Khan and his lost crown.

Another thing that I enjoyed was the action scenes. Cussler is a master of writing exciting and suspenseful action scenes. There are plenty of explosions, shootouts, and car chases in the book, and they are all very well-written.

Of course, no Clive Cussler novel would be complete without a cast of memorable characters. Dirk Pitt is one of the most iconic heroes in adventure fiction, and he is in top form in Treasure of Khan. He is joined by his usual team, including Al Giordino, Rudi Gunn, and Sandecker.

Overall, Treasure of Khan is a great adventure novel. It is perfect for fans of Clive Cussler and adventure fiction in general.

Pros:

  1. Fast-paced and action-packed

Cons:

Overall rating: 4 out of 5 stars
