While equity and equality may sound similar, in reality, they are anything but. The implementation of one versus the other can lead to dramatically different outcomes both within and outside the workplace, so let's see what they mean and their differences. Equality Equality means giving each individual the same resources or opportunities without paying any attention to the fairness of the desired outcome. Equity Equity on the other hand, recognises that every person has different outcomes and capabilities and thus provides the resources necessary to reach an equal outcome.
